About the National Emergency Responder & Public Safety Center

Daily challenges have reached unprecedented levels for law enforcement, emergency medical personnel, fire, search and rescue, military, dispatchers, corrections/detentions officers, victim advocates, probation/parole, and others who work within associated fields.

The need for quality resources that support emergency responders, their loved ones, and retirees is formidable.

The National Emergency Responder and Public Safety Center™ recognizes and understands the unique needs of the community it serves. We have created a powerhouse of resources to build and enhance sustained performance, wellness, and resiliency.

Our value-added programming is created in collaboration with those who are equally passionate about serving this population. The result is class-leading, data-driven, responder-approved education and training resources, focused on three distinct interconnected groups:

  • Clinicians
NERPSC has created the first master’s level, and above, Emergency Responder and Public Safety Clinician Certification™, which features 40 hours of core education plus 16 hours of verified experiential participation in the emergency responder or public safety work environment. Clinician certification creates a national standard of competency, identifying those clinicians who are culturally competent and trauma informed. Responders need to have a trusted resource to turn to when they need support.
  • Agencies and Responders
NERPSC understands that budgets have been reduced, retirements have been overwhelming, morale has taken a hit, and recruitment and retention has been an uphill battle. We have re-envisioned wellness and lengthy trainings, developing a cost-effective, online toolkit of powerful interventions to address all levels of mental health and wellness. NERPSC is also facing the tough topics head-on, providing specialized training to enhance responders’ work within our communities.
  • Families
NERPSC is committed to addressing the topics that are important to responder families. We provide relevant resources to strengthen responder families and support networks. These resources provide practical assistance and support to help families with everyday challenges and necessary preparedness strategies.

Our Leadership Team:

Jaime Brower, Psy.D., ABPP
Jaime Brower is the Founder and serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the National Emergency Responder and Public Safety Center.

She has devoted herself to serving emergency responders and their loved ones for more than 20 years. The breadth of her professional experience includes work with law enforcement, fire, corrections/detentions, EMS, dispatch, victim advocates, military, probation/parole, and others associated professionals. Also, with personal ties to this population, she understands the unique demands and challenges that responders, and their families face while serving their communities.

Dr. Brower is Founder and CEO of Jaime Brower Psychological Services & Consulting, Inc. Brower Psychological supports more than 150 agencies nationally at local, state, and federal levels. The agency’s services include counseling services; peer support team development, training, and oversight; critical incident response; psychological testing and evaluations; both organization and operational consulting; and threat and risk assessment.

Because of those efforts, she recognized an opportunity to better support the responder community, creating the National Emergency Responder and Public Safety Center™ (NERPSC). Dr. Brower believes that lasting change is built through a systems approach. NERPSC is sustained by a community of class-leading contributors with a like-minded and like-hearted dedication to creating national success outcomes for responders (including retirees), their loved ones, the agencies and communities they serve, and the clinicians that support them.

Through a systems approach, NERPSC creates value-added, proprietary, nationally recognized training, education, and support tools that follow and empower a responder from hire to retire. Each tool is developed with a single goal – to improve the lives of responders.

Dr. Brower is American Board Certified in Police & Public Safety Psychology (ABPPSP) and currently serves on the ABPPSP Board, as its Academy President.
